Leather slippers – can no longer be saved?

Ups…

Probably everyone with children knows it – not looking closely for a moment, and the dear little ones have already discovered the largest mud puddle in the garden. Accordingly, the child with its clothes and leather shoes now look. But luckily there is a solution for everything – for clothes it’s the washing machine, for the child the bathtub. And for the shoes? Tapir, of course.
For cleaning and subsequent maintenance, we need the following:

  • a bucket of washing water
  • the outdoors on the road! Cleaner
  • a swelling sponge
  • Impregnation for suede, nubuck and suede
  • an application brush
    Leather Care Cream in Colorless
  • a shine brush
    a suede eraser

Deep care for the leather

Next, the shoes deserve just as intensive care after intensive cleaning. Here I decided to use the leather care cream in colorless. Simply put a little on the application brush and massage it onto the smooth leather parts of the shoe.
To enhance the effect of leather care and to get the leather nice and shiny again, it should now be treated with the gloss brush. Brushing creates heat, which brings the wax content of the cream even deeper into the leather. Then the characteristic shine is created.

Impregnation and roughening of the suede

The next step is to get the suede back soft and beautiful on the sole and protect it from future soiling.
To do this, the impregnating spray for nubuck, suede and suede is shaken properly and sprayed generously onto the sole from a distance of approx. 20-30 centimetres. Immediately afterwards, it should be spread with an application brush to avoid droplets.
Now the leather should be given plenty of time to dry. If it is dry, the suede on the sole must be roughened again. To do this, I simply take the suede eraser and rub gently in one direction. As a result, the fibers of the leather stand up and it regains its characteristic appearance.

The shoes are now clean again and ready for the next use in the garden or on the playground.
