PFAS-free
Tapir has been producing high-quality care products for shoes, leather goods, fabrics and wooden furniture for 40 years now. The company relies on environmentally friendly production and the use of natural raw materials. All products have a full declaration, so customers know exactly what they are buying.
Unfortunately, per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) are still used in many care products, even though these substances are dangerous to both humans and the environment. PFAS are chemical compounds that are often used in moisture repellents, impregnations or cleaning agents due to their special chemical properties. PFAS can be found not only in water and air, but also in food and in the blood of humans and animals.
The danger of PFAS is based on the fact that they do not degrade in the environment and accumulate more and more. PFAS are suspected of being carcinogenic and affecting the endocrine system.
This makes it all the more important that the European Union has now decided to severely restrict PFAS. Tapir expressly supports this approach. Unfortunately, PFAS still do not currently need to be listed as ingredients on products, making it difficult for consumers to tell if these substances are present in a product.
At Tapir, however, customers can be sure that only natural and, if possible, ecologically certified raw materials are used. The natural recipes are not only more environmentally friendly, but often also more effective than conventional products. Tapir is consistently committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly production, proving that it can also be done without harmful chemicals.
